Blackpool Youth Council (BYC) are the youth representation for the young people of Blackpool.

They ensure that every young person, aged 11 to 18, no matter their ethnic or social background can have their voice heard; allowing young people to have the opportunity to have their say and make informed decisions on key issues affecting them.

BYC are involved in activities and campaigns that enable them to make positive changes for young people in Blackpool. We work with different organisations and partners across the town to help shape and decision makers that affect the lives of local young people.

BYC are aware of the needs of individuals or groups of young people who may experience disadvantage or are unable to speak for themselves. Their aim is to raise the profile of young people in a positive way.

Their partners include Youthforia Northwest, the UK Youth Parliament and the British Youth Council where issues are looked at on a national, regional and a local level. All of this is aimed to actively get involved in the community, making a difference on a local level and promoting democratic values.
